4 Bars Near Bukit Timah Where You Can Keep a Low Profile

Updated: Mar 17, 2021

Some people go to a bar to be seen, but where do you go if you wish to be discreet and inconspicuous? You might be looking for a place where you won’t be a familiar face. If you’re in Bukit Timah, check out these four places to keep a low profile.

Junior

This cozy bar along Ann Siang Hill Road has limited seating, so be sure to book a reservation. You can do so every night at 5:30 p.m., 7:15 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. between Monday and Saturday. You can only stay for 90 minutes given the current restrictions.

Don’t worry if you forget to reserve a seat. Junior still accepts walk-in guests for half of its seating capacity. Once there, try their origami cocktails that are priced at $25.

D. Bespoke

Here’s a speakeasy bar with a 28-seating capacity for a truly cozy appeal. In other words, patrons flock to this bar in Outram to avoid a large crowd. The bar owner’s hands-on approach is also what makes it appealing to guests.

Daiki Kanetaka takes the helm at the Ginza-style bar to offer a tailored experience to customers. You can visit the place between Monday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. The place opens from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Gibson

It’s often difficult to find a bar that opens in the afternoon. In Outram, you can visit the Gibson bar as early as 4 p.m. daily. If you’re out to try several bars, you should start here as the place closes at 10:30 p.m.

Of note is Aki Eguchi, who takes care of customers’ drinks. He already won the Diageo Reserve World Class Singapore twice, so you know you’re in competent hands.

Try the Ramos Gin Fizz if you’re not in a hurry. It takes up to 15 minutes to shake the drink, so use the time to strike a conversation with the bartender

The Other Room

As the name suggests, you’ll need to move past thick curtains before reaching this secretive place in Orchard. The bar is the best place to be when you want to stay out longer.

The Other Room opens from 6 p.m. until 3 a.m. from Monday to Thursday. It opens at the same time on weekends and closes at 4 a.m.

Conclusion

You might be thinking of just having a mini-bar at home to save money on bar nights. If you’re planning to renovate, it would cost money. Why not consider a personal loan for building a small nook to enjoy DIY drinks?
